I'm excited about this project!  There will be some short term jobs created to build, and the end result will definitely add some interesting and thoughtful architecture to our town without jeopardising any of our built heritage.

Dear Blog Readers, This morning I read a story by CBC Journalist Jenna Head; you can find it here . The story is full of misinformation.  The writer doesn't even know where New-Wes-Valley is- that's how little work she put into that story.  'Near' Bonavista Bay?  🙄   I would like to point out that they did not contact this blogger's email, and so the statement about anyone not being willing to be interviewed is a big fat lie.  And yes, I checked the spam box.  Nothing. As a concerned citizen of NWV I have questions around th e qualifications of the current CAO, as seen below in a post from the town of NWV   in   May of 2024 it is stated that she is a project manager. According to the Gardner Centre "Fundamentals of Project Management" is a 2 day course and is only one small part of becoming a "Project Manager" with many more requirements to get your Project Management Professional (PMP) designation and be considered a Project Manager. Next is the statement that she is "currently completing her MSc in leadership for Sustainable Rural Development through MUN". I decided to reach out to MUN for some clarification-  this is a copy of the response.     This raises a couple of questions for me. •   Are these the qualifications that were used to promote from the inte rim   CAO position to the full time CAO position? •   Is this individual the one we want representing our town as we are goin...

Candidate Nomination Day

Don't forget that Thursday, September 4th, is the day that we can all go to the town hall to nominate our fellow residents to run as candidates in the municipal election! If you're looking for information on how the process works, here's a link to the Guide for Municipal Elections in Newfoundland where you can find all the details. The quick info: Arrive at the Town Hall between 8am and 8pm Bring a $10 fee- you can pay by cash or card Have the Nominator, Seconder, and Candidate go together to sign the papers in person- the forms are available at the Town Hall to fill in while you're there Bring ID Start campaigning! Good luck to everyone who's stepping up to the plate.
