An NTV Story of Interest

We found a very relevant article on NTV News from December which speaks very much to what our citizens are concerned about.  Check out this video to see that this is an ongoing issue all over the province, not just New-Wes-Valley.

This is why we feel that our say needs a platform.  We can be considered an ethics committee, or filling the role of an opposition party in a government body that does not include that option.

  1. Every one should take a look at this as the question about oversight in this article is exactly what I have a concern with if someone has a concern with the actions of a CAO the complaint goes to the CAO.how is there going to be an unbiased investigation into the complaint when the CAO is the person receiving the complaint.

    1. Yes, the power should be in the hands of the Councilors, guided by the Residents, not in the hands of the staff members hired to administer the decisions of the Council.

The current set-up is not honest & transparent enough.

    2. Had no idea about this! In what other job does this happen? Likely none.

  2. I like the idea of looking at this group as a “opposition party”. Every level of government should be transparent about where our tax dollars are being spent, and the things going on in our town/province/country. Plus there needs to be a better way of getting concerns of citizens heard.

  3. Can a follow up on the requested Ethics Committee be obtained.?
