Candidate Nomination Day

Don't forget that Thursday, September 4th, is the day that we can all go to the town hall to nominate our fellow residents to run as candidates in the municipal election!

If you're looking for information on how the process works, here's a link to the Guide for Municipal Elections in Newfoundland where you can find all the details.

The quick info:

  1. Arrive at the Town Hall between 8am and 8pm
  2. Bring a $10 fee- you can pay by cash or card
  3. Have the Nominator, Seconder, and Candidate go together to sign the papers in person- the forms are available at the Town Hall to fill in while you're there
  4. Bring ID
  5. Start campaigning!

    I'm excited to announce that I have entered my name as a Candidate for 'Councillor- Ward 2' this afternoon in New-Wes-Valley's Municipal Election.

    I'll be sending out a message to every Ward 2 resident by mail very soon, and hope to talk to my friends, family members, and neighbours here in Wesleyville & Brookfield about what matters in our community!

    Because I want to make sure that things are done just right, I have handed over the reins of this blog which I started in February of this year to a new BlogMaster. I no longer have any control over this blog. And I also can promise that any comments I make will not be posted anonymously.

In Response to the CAO's Response to the 1st Concerned Citizens Newsletter

We've been asked many times about the slides that the Chief Administrative Officer spoke about at the beginning of the March 18th 2025 Council meeting, and we'd like to explain what that was all about. For those of us who know the previous CAO, it was obvious immediately that an attack was being made against her without an opportunity for her to respond.  For those of you who are still in the dark, prepare yourself with a cuppa and read on.  The first set of bullet points blames the previous CAO for mismanaging the town office and the budget, hoodwinking the Council into doing things they didn't want to do, overspending, and even hiring a family member without the Council's approval.
