A Note from your Blogmaster

Hello all you citizens of New-Wes-Valley,

I am shocked to see so many comments on this blog in the last few days- with quite a few inappropriate comments mixed in with some really helpful words of wisdom, prompting me to introduce a few guidelines to help keep this blog going as an effective tool, and not a source of stress for its users.

Guidelines for 'Have Your Say' posts and all comments:

  1. Keep your comments focused on the post.  Do not comment on something not linked to the topic of the post.  If you want to introduce a new topic, write an email and send it to newwesvalleycitizens@gmail.com. I want your voice to be heard, but make sure you're not distracting the discussion from something else that some of us might feel is important.
  2. Keep your message friendly.  Even when bringing up a new challenging topic, criticism needs to be constructive, and not meant to harm nor bully.  Comments of a bullying nature will be deleted, hidden, or marked as spam.
  3. There are way too many Anonymous posts.  If you are ashamed to write your name on your post, then you might want to rethink writing it at all.  While I realize that some topics might be much better introduced by an anonymous post, that should not be the case most of the time.  Posting an Anonymous sarcastic dig for instance, is not cool.
  4. I don't want to see any more posts talking about what's being said on Facebook.  When you make a comment on this platform, don't refer to things that are hidden to the blog's audience.  Your comment needs to be relevant to this blog.  Comments that are not relevant to the post will also be removed.
  5. All content has to agree with the platform's blogger content policy
Above all, there is no us and them.  We are all citizens of this beautiful place.  I have attended all meetings that I have known about, and each meeting has different people in attendance, with some more interested or available than others. The meetings I know about are added to the calendar at the bottom of this page for anyone to read.  I am one of a large number of concerned citizens.  Anyone posting on this blog is showing that they too are concerned citizens: concerned enough to have a say.

Please make sure your comments are within the blog's guidelines.

Sincerely,
